Getting help and support for mental health and wellbeing

If you are concerned about your own or a loved one’s mental health and wellbeing, we have listed below a number of organisations and charities from across the UK who are there to help those employed in agricultural or farming businesses.

The Farming Community Network (FCN) [England and Wales]

The Farming Community Network operates a confidential national helpline (0300 011 1999) for those in our Rural Sector who are experiencing feelings of isolation, anxiety or other concerns. The helpline is operated by volunteers who are from farming backgrounds and will understand the pressures you may be facing.

The confidential helpline is open every day of the year from 7am – 11pm, and an e-helpline service is also available at help@fcn.org.uk

Over the winter period, FCN is encouraging those who are experiencing hardship to get in touch as part of its appeal for those in need not to suffer in silence. This year the charity has seen an increase in calls, with issues including coronavirus, post-Brexit farming policy, the daily challenges of farming and more.

Two platforms are available for you to use; Kooth, for young people aged 11 to 17, and Qwell, for those aged 18+.
